Free Line of Symmetry Worksheets for Kindergarten – Yes or No
These free printable line of symmetry worksheets ask kindergarten and first grade children a single clear question about each picture: if you folded the shape along the dotted line, would the two halves match exactly? Children circle yes or no. This is deliberately not a worksheet that asks children to draw the line of symmetry themselves, because a square has four lines of symmetry and a circle has more than anyone can count, so drawing one line could never be marked fairly. With the line already drawn there is always one right answer. Every page has three shapes where the line works and three where it does not, so children cannot get through by guessing the same answer each time, and the shapes include some with no symmetry at all, such as the parallelogram. The first page explains the idea with a heart. The last page is an answer key. Just download, print, and fold!
