Free Living and Non-Living Things Worksheets for Kindergarten
These free printable living and non-living things worksheets are the second set in our science section for kindergarten. Children learn to ask a simple question about anything they see: does it grow, does it need water and air, can it have babies? The pages rotate through four tasks three times so nobody does the same thing twelve times: ticking living or not living for a single picture, circling the living things in a group of eight, judging whether a sentence is right or wrong, and writing the words on a line. Every question has exactly one correct answer. Fruit, vegetables and food are deliberately left out, because whether a picked apple is still living is a fair argument and a child should not be marked wrong for it, and the same goes for wooden and paper objects that were once part of a living thing. Plants are included on purpose, since many children think only animals are alive. The sentences avoid traps too: moving on your own is never used as a test, because plants do not move. An answer key covering all twelve pages is included on the last sheet. Just download, print, and start sorting!
