Free Sort by Size and Color Worksheets for Kindergarten
These free printable sorting worksheets ask kindergarten children to sort shapes by two things at once, the size and the color. Each page shows eight numbered shapes and a table with the two colors along the top and big and small down the side, and children write every number in the box that matches both. Sorting by one rule is something most children can already do, but holding two rules in mind at the same time is a real step up and it is the same thinking that later goes into reading a table or a graph. Exactly two numbers belong in each box, so children can count their own answers and see straight away if something has gone in the wrong place. The shapes on any one page are all the same, so only the size and the color change, and the big shapes are twice the size of the small ones so there is never any doubt. The last page is an answer key. Just download, print, and sort!
