Free 3D Shapes Worksheets for Kindergarten – Faces and Edges
These free printable 3D shapes worksheets ask kindergarten and first grade children to count the faces, the corners and the edges of solid shapes. The first page shows a cube with each part labelled, so children know what they are looking for before they start. The first four pages count faces, the next three count corners and the last three count edges, which is the hardest because some edges are hidden behind the shape. Every picture shows the hidden edges as dotted lines, so children can count them rather than guess. This set uses only shapes made from flat faces, the cube, the rectangular prism, the square pyramid, the triangular prism and the triangular pyramid. Spheres, cylinders and cones are left out on purpose: books disagree about whether a curved surface counts as a face, so a question about a cylinder would have more than one defensible answer. The last page is an answer key. Just download, print, and count!
