Free Line Tracing Worksheets for Preschool and Kindergarten
These free printable line tracing worksheets give preschool and kindergarten children the pencil practice that comes before writing letters. Each row starts at a green dot beside a picture and follows a dotted path across to another picture, so there is a reason to get to the end: the rabbit reaches the carrot, the bus reaches the school. The set works through six kinds of line in order of difficulty, straight, slanted, curved, wavy, zigzag, and loopy, and then goes through all six again with more bends in each line. These are the same movements that letters are built from, so time spent here makes handwriting easier later, and the wide paths let a child who is still learning to hold a pencil succeed. There is no answer key with this set because tracing has no right answer, only practice. Just download, print, and start at the green dot!
