Free Opposites Worksheets for Kindergarten – Match the Opposite
These free printable opposites worksheets help kindergarten and first grade children learn the words that mean the other way round, such as hot and cold or push and pull. The pages alternate between two tasks so children are not doing the same thing ten times: on half of them children circle the opposite from three choices, and on the other half they draw a line from each word on the left to its partner on the right. Learning opposites in pairs is one of the quickest ways for young children to build vocabulary, because each new word arrives attached to one they already know. Words with more than one opposite, such as short, old and light, are deliberately left out of this set, since short can be the opposite of both long and tall and a child circling either one would be right. Every word here has exactly one partner. The last page is an answer key. Just download, print, and match!
