Free Real-World 2D Shapes Worksheets for Kindergarten
These free printable real-world 2D shapes worksheets help preschool and kindergarten children find flat shapes in the things they see every day. A clock is a circle, a window is a square, a slice of pizza is a triangle, and a door is a rectangle. The pages rotate between three tasks so children are not doing the same thing over and over: naming the shape of a picture from three choices, reading a shape name and picking the thing that has it, and drawing a line from each thing to its shape name. Spotting shapes in real objects is the step that turns shape names into something children actually use, and it works just as well away from the desk, on a walk or around the kitchen. Only the four first shapes are used, so nothing has to be sorted into a circle or an oval. The first page shows each shape beside a real thing that has it, and the final page is an answer key. Just download, print, and go shape hunting!
