Free Shape Pattern Worksheets for Kindergarten – Draw AB, ABB and ABC Patterns
These free printable shape pattern worksheets help kindergarten and first grade children see how a pattern repeats and carry it on. Each page has five rows of colorful shapes with two empty boxes at the end, and children work out the pattern and draw the next two shapes themselves instead of picking from choices. The rows cover five kinds of pattern, AB, AAB, ABB, ABC and AABB, so children move on from simple two-shape patterns to longer repeating units. Every pattern shows its repeating part at least twice before the boxes, so there is only one right answer. Spotting and extending patterns is early algebra, and it also helps with counting and reading. The last two pages are answer keys. Just download, print, and draw!
