These free printable adjectives worksheets teach kindergarten children the describing word, the part of speech that makes a sentence come alive. An adjective tells what something is like: red, big, soft, loud. This set completes our parts of speech series alongside the nouns and action words worksheets, and it rotates through four tasks three times so nobody does the same thing twelve times: circling the describing word out of three choices, finding the one describing word inside a short sentence, choosing the word that describes a picture, and writing the describing word with a word bank at the top for spelling help. Every question has exactly one correct answer. On the picture pages the describing word is always a color, because a color can be checked and agreed on, while words like pretty or old depend on who is looking. The colors in every picture were measured, so a wrong choice is never a color that actually appears in the drawing: the carrot never offers green as a wrong answer, because its leafy top really is green.
